Christmas Caroling...

We loaded up 2 vans, a sub, and a few other cars and headed to the Fire Stations, then we headed to a few homes of the families in our church. We had a BIG turn out this year, It was great! We even were sworn in as honoree Deputies.. After we were done singing to them. You can see in one of the pictures where we all have our right hands up taking the oath. When we got to the last house they had goodies for us.. Hot Apple Cider and cookies... Thank you and Yum!!!

Award Time...

Dinner Time!!

We played some really fun games tonight. We played Christmas pictionary. Then we had to look at some pictures and tell the Christmas songs, and one of the favorites was where we had a piece of paper on our head and we had to draw a Christmas tree, then put a star sticker and 3 ornaments and then a stocking on the paper. While it was on our head the whole time. It was interesting to see how well some of them drew.

We had our annual Christmas Dinner, which is always alot of fun. We even had some special guests this year. We invited the L.A.B. youth group to join us. They are alot of fun. I will have to post about our adventures with them and our game called COUCHING!!! It sure was a nite to remember..:D

Finding Jesus By Danielle Rogers

I have personally grown up always believing that God is alive. I cannot say I knew much about him as a child, but from my mother telling me there is a God who created me I surely did believe. I used to pray to Him whether I knew what praying to Him was all about or not. As a young girl I did not know the concept of being spiritually reborn or being saved as well as living for Christ. Up until I was in Middle School I wasn't necessarily exposed to "the world", and what goes on as far as “being good or being bad”, which I may like to have called it then. It wasn't until my second year in Middle School that I was actually apart of the world, and its concerns. I began to ‘care’ what I looked like, and I can say that it was my first time ever influenced to doing something out of proportion compared to anything any of the other kids were doing at my age. To me God was this ‘being’ that I prayed to when I needed help, which isn't too bad for only a believer. I had been attending a local Church where I learned how to look up scriptures in The Bible as well as any other concept of "being a Christian". With the understanding of being good verses bad I still chose to do things that I wasn't supposed to do. Towards the end of my last year in Middle School I was invited by a new friend to Calvary Open Bible Church where I met a lot of amazing 'true Christians'. However, at the time I didn't quite see what God was showing me as well as notice that they were true to Christ. After attending Calvary Open Bible for a year I was introduced to Jesus Christ personally. Before then I had never known or been told from any other church I had ever attended about having an actual relationship with Jesus. Once summer began I chose to be close with God, but it wasn't until Church Camp it had actually hit me. During that strong and spiritual week I had become much closer with God. I also became closer with the girls from Calvary Open Bible. For once I had felt a connection with a church’s fellowship as well as Christ Himself. After camp was over my life was becoming something beyond my outlook on life had ever been. I had an amazing passion and love for Christ. I had been sharing His word, and inviting many friends to church. My web page on the internet had greatly changed from having majority of it about myself to everything about Jesus and my love for Him. Following His plan out of my love for Him, my life was becoming the best I could ever imagine. Months after my unforgettable experience, I am now on SWAT leadership at Calvary Open Bible. My walk with God is still growing. Although I am still a sinner, I know that I have God to give me the grace and comfort I need. My walk with him will go on, and as long as I keep focus I can keep away from being content.
